February 28th, 2011 by DVDFab_Malcolm 15,839 views

The Oscars are absolutely the most glamorous awards ceremony of the entertainment industry in the world. This year’s Oscars just took place the night on Feb. 27, 2011, in Los Angeles’ Kodak Theatre, where something surprising happened – “Social Network”, the early front-runner in this year’s Oscars race, was defeated by “The King’s Speech”, the winner of the 83rd Academy Awards.

“The King’s Speech” harvested 4 biggest awards: Best Picture, Best Actor for Colin Firth, Best Director for Tom Hooper, and Best Original Screenplay for David Seidler. While David Fincher’s “The Social Network” won three awards for Best Adapted Screenplay, Film Editing and Original Score.

What about the other films you may concern? We cover them all. “Black Swan” won the Best Actress award for Natalie Portman; “The Fighter” won Best Supporting Actress for Melissa Leo and her co-star Christian Bale; “God of Love” won the Best Short Live Action instead of “The Crush”; “Toy Story 3” won the award for Best Animated Film as the most unsurprising part of this ceremony; “Inside Job” got Best Documentary Feature; “Inception” also won four awards: Best Cinematograpy, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Visual Effects.
