The Performance of Lightning-Recoding for Interleaved H.264 and 3D Multi-Thread H.264 MVC Decoder

As DVDFab 8.0.6.5 was released on Dec. 27, 2010, there are lots of improvements and fixes in this new version. Among them, the most notable ones should be the added support for interleaved H.264 when using Lightning-Recoding in Blu-ray Copy 8.0.6.5 and the added 3D multi-thread H.264 MVC decoder in Blu-ray 3D Ripper 8.0.6.5 which speeds up the decoder up to 60%.

After times and times tests developed by the professional DVDFab test team, the performance of Lightning-Recoding for interleaved H.264 and 3D multi-thread H.264 MVC decoder has proved to be stable and well. See the detail as below:

The performance of Lightning-Recoding for interleaved H.264:

The performance of 3D multi-thread H.264 MVC decoder:

ENV: Win7 Ultimate + Core i7 860 2.8GHZ + NVIDIA GTX 330
Old engine, build 8.0.6.1 M-T H.264 MVC decoder, build 8.0.6.5

i am wanting to purchase your 3d blue ray ripping software to backup my blue ray movies and i currently have the free software and i am wondering why does it have to connect to the internet before it backs up the blue ray?

      Hi, reggie bonvillian,

DVDFab Blu-ray series need connect internet to decode AACS and BD+ copy protections, that means you need to have your computer connected to Internet.

  2. This is by far the fastest software I’ve seen but it was impossible to do bluray ripping to mp4 in 2-pass mode. The file it creates is only playable with VLC. Under Windows media player and apple quick time (pc or mac), the video is all jerky. With one pass it was very fast but not the same quality.

    1. Hi luc,

Blu-ray Ripper – to MP4 has added “2-pass” for encoding, please upgrade to the latest version of DVDFab 8.0.6.7 at http://www.dvdfab.com/download.htm to check it out. You can also try “1-pass” to see if the output file playback with jitter or not.

      Hi, luc,

Please open Common Settings->General->A/V Codec, set video decoder and encoder as software, then convert again to see the result.

      Regards

      1. I also tried software mode for encoder & decoder and I ended up with the same results. I tried different movies also. It seems to be a timing flag. The problem is not the codec used at playback since I also have the issue on my mac..
        3 softwares, 3 different results:
vlc playback: perfect mac & windows (obviously)
windows media player: audio is fine but movie frames are not fluid. Look like it’s in slow motion for some parts.
quicktime windows/mac: looks like a telecine problem.
if someone can contact me by email, I have a sample (141 megs file, which is chapter 1 of a movie) that can be accessed over my dropbox account. I only need somebody’s email to share it with
I’m running 8.0.6.7, win7 x64. I can put the log files also in the folder.
