Robert Pattinson: If it was Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire that first brought Robert Pattinson into silver screen, then it was the Twilight series that made him a mega star. Yes, this breakout guitar and piano player seems now is enjoying skyrocketing popularity among moviegoers, especially among teenagers, not only because of his good looking, but also his acting skills. Actually, his maiden shot was Vanity Fair in 2004, when he was 20, but unfortunately, his role was cut off in the final production. Additionally, apart from big screen, he did take a role in 2004 in a TV play called Curse of the Ring as Giselher. This intelligent man earned a sea of fame at a very young age, among those of many, several were really interesting: he was named in 2008 One of People Magazine’s Sexiest Men Alive; Moviefone’s Number 1 Hottest Young Star Under 25, in 2009; again, in 2009, he took AOL Moviefone’s Sexiest Male Star into arms…even Sarah Barry Williams wrote a song titled “She wants to be Mrs. Robert Pattinson”.

Bel Ami: French mastermind Maupassant’s second long novel, which is also a masterpiece, delivers the story of Georges Duroy, a ruthlessly ambitious but poor ex-NCO, nicknamed “Bel-Ami” by his female admirers, making his way up to upper class of Paris through manipulating a group of wealthy, brilliant and influential women. It is a novel about money, sex, and power, and at the same time, a devastating satire of the sleaziness of contemporary journalism. It has been rendered into TVs, films and dramas more than once in the past, including Bel Ami (1939); The Private Affairs of Bel Ami (1947), starring George Sanders and itself the first version in English; a 2005 French/Belgian version made for television, starring Sagamore Stévenin; a stage version directed by Pavel Khek premiered on 11th April, 2008 in City Theatre, Mladá Boleslav. Thr Czech title is Milček, with Petr Mikeska in the title role of Georges Duroy; a Musical version was staged at the White Bear Theatre, London, premiered on July 12th, 2011, produced by Ruby in the Dust, written and directed by Linnie Reedman, with the music and lyrics composed by Joe Evans.

New Bel Ami 2012: Ever since movie industry was born, masterpieces were brought into silver screen from stage. Now, a new version of Bel Ami is coming round the corner. The sexist man this time will play the role of that ruthless, ambitious but poor ex-soldier, Georges Duroy. Although Edward Cullen he starred in Twilight series is somewhat cold, cruel, who seems sharing some common ground with Georges Duroy, there is certainly huge challenge. Maybe Robert fans can’t wait to see how he successfully transfers his role from a vampire, a ruthless killer, to a strongly motivated NCO of upper-middle class, who, after dropping the military service, starts his living as a clerk, then enables himself with the help of a former friend to be a fish journalist of the newspaper La Vie Française, and at the end becomes the most successful man in top class Paris.

The new movie is directed by Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod, and it was shot in Budapest, Hungary. Besides Robert Pattinson, Uma Thurman will play the role of Madeleine Forestier, Duroy’s secret love interest, Kristin Scott Thomas will star Madame Walter, another love interest of Duroy, Christina Ricci will star as Clotilde de Marelle. According to a new report, Magnolia Pictures has announced that the release date of the new Bel Ami in United Stated is set to June, 8th. Bel Ami premiered internationally at the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival in mid-February.
