Snow White and Huntsman was released on September 11, 2012, in both DVD and Blu-ray versions. If you haven’t got one, just read on to get a picture about this release, and be well-informed before making your decision.
The plot of this new bold adaption of the fairy-tale classic from commercial director Rupert Sanders is simply like this:
Under the reign of the evil Queen Ravenna (Charlize Theron), the kingdom Tabor descends into chaos and darkness; the young Snow White (Kristen Stewart), who escapes into the Dark Forest, discovers she alone has a heart pure enough to defeat the evil Queen. Obsessed with being the fairest woman in the land, the Queen learns that Snow White will soon surpass her in beauty, and seeks to achieve immortality by consuming the young girl’s heart. So she sends the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth), the only one capable of braving the Dark Forest, to seek out Snow White. However, the Huntsman refuses to follow his order, after finding Snow White, he begins training her for the battle ahead to rid their kingdom of evil and restore Tabor to its former glory. Meanwhile, a handsome prince (Sam Claflin) falls hopelessly under Snow White’s spell. And the seven Dwarfs are co-starred by Ray Winstone, Ian McShane, Eddie Izzard, Bob Hoskins, Toby Jones, Eddie Marsan, and Stephen Graham.
Snow White and the Huntsman‘s script is credited to three screenwriters — Evan Daugherty, John Lee Hancock and Hossein Amini. The tone, pacing and storytelling of the piece may be distinct or inconsistent, however, it is worth watching, especially for its visuals and carefully plotted, often unpredictable adaptation.
So, do you plan to get one and take adventure in this fairyland to fight alongside Snow White and Huntsman, and the lovely 7 Dwarfs?
