Designed with a lightweight architecture and one-click detection mechanism, this extension enables users to automatically identify video resources directly within their web browser.
Product Background — Why We Built This
Some users prefer not to install multiple desktop applications and want to minimize the maintenance burden on their devices. At the same time, there is growing interest in having an all-in-one browsing experience — the ability to watch, detect, and archive video resources directly within the browser, without switching between different programs.
In StreamFab’s 2025 user research, a notable portion of respondents explicitly expressed the desire for a lightweight extension-based product, one that provides quick access to content detection without requiring the installation of the full StreamFab client.
These insights strongly validated the direction for a browser extension project. As a result, StreamFab for Browser was developed as a lightweight companion tool within the StreamFab product ecosystem — designed to help users detect downloadable video resources seamlessly while browsing, offering a more flexible and efficient alternative to the desktop application when needed.

Powered by over a decade of StreamFab’s expertise in online video processing, StreamFab for Browser supports resource detection across more than 1,000 online websites.

3) High-Quality Output Options (Up to 8K Video & 320 kbps Audio, Source-Dependent)
When supported by the source, StreamFab for Browser enables high-resolution video output of up to 8K and high-bitrate audio extraction of up to 320 kbps, delivering premium visual and audio quality.
Final output quality depends on the original media source and available streams.
4) Advanced Codec Support (H.264, VP9, and AV1)
In addition to standard H.264, StreamFab for Browser can detect and process modern, high-efficiency codecs such as VP9 and AV1, when available. This allows for improved compression efficiency, smaller file sizes, faster processing, and support for higher resolutions, including 8K.
5) Subtitle Support (SRT or Remux Formats)
Unlike many browser-based tools that ignore subtitles entirely, StreamFab for Browser supports subtitle preservation with SRT export or remux options, ensuring complete, accessible content with multi-language support.
6) Batch and Playlist Processing
StreamFab for Browser also supports batch tasks and playlist handling, allowing users to capture entire playlists with a single action. Videos are automatically detected and processed in sequence, eliminating the need to manually copy individual links.
